Welcome to Daniel Richerson reviews. I am Daniel Richerson. And today I'm going to be reviewing Crypt and Joey Nato's When The Sky Turns Red. This is an independent hip hop project.
When the Sky Turns Red - Right off the bat you can tell that Crypt and Nato are rapping rapping. The production value is crisp. The beat goes hard. Definitely can hear someone bumping this in the car. Both artists spit fire. They definitely made sure that the project had a strong opening. Which is a great way to keep the listener invested in the whole project.
Bad Mood - There's a little bit of auto tune, but not overbearing like you hear in a lot of tracks today. The beat is another banger. The chorus is a catchy and easy to remember. Definitely one that you would be humming randomly. Both artists, once again, are dropping bars. Seems so far that their rapping like they hungry. I believe when an artists of any genre are hungry, they're at their best. In other words, they're not satisfied with doing the bare minimum. Everything they put out has to be top notch.
G.O.A.T. Cheese - They're not holding back on this project. This track is them saying that this was not an easy road for them to get this point. They had to work hard and sacrifice to get where they are at this point. Respect.
Art - Listening to this track at first, you think it's a track to slow the album down a little bit. It's far from that. It sounds like an angry track. Crypt's rap flow is crazy which is being redundant. Crypt is known to have a quick flow pattern. And unlike most who try to do that, Crypt usually pulls it off well.
Triggered - Nato brought the heat with his flow on this one. Crypt is a monster on the mic. His pen is amazing. Sounds like real drums was used on the beat, and as a drummer I can appreciate that. I'm assuming Nato made all if not most of the beats on this project. Get your money fam.
Uey - Just a good all around track. Beat has bounce to it which is all you want in a good hip hop song. Both killed their verses.
Footsteps (feat. Atlus) - The track opens with Atlus singing the chorus. An old school grungy sound like Aaron Lewis from Stain sound. Crypt comes on with his verse and sounds like his apologizing and owning up to his part. Which is hard for a man to do sometimes. Nato comes on and does the same thing. Strong track.
Vlog This - Sounds like Crypt is showing some singing vocals on this one. Go 'head my G. Another great track.
Cold Place - I love when Crypt starts spazzing and your head can't help but nod to the bars.
Dirt On My Name - I love the flow pattern on this track from both rappers. Crypt is getting things off his chest on this one. Nato killed his flow as well.
Hallucinate (feat. Chvse) - It was different but catchy. The title pretty much says it all.
Pyscho (feat Luke Gawne) - Now Nato is proving his more than a producer in this one. Dude can definitely rap. Luke Gawne...good gosh. This is the last track of the whole thing. Holy Shoot did they end with this with a bang.
Overall, as you can probably tell, I enjoyed this. This is definitely one for the road. I've been following Crypt for a minute now so I know about his skills. Joey Nato I heard about, but wasn't really familar with his rapping skills. I knew he was a dope producer. Shouts out to whoever mixed this project too because that was on point.
